Our journey to safeguard People and the Planet

Since 1981 we have been designing and manufacturing casual wear for all ages and today we are represented in more than 50 countries under our own brand name.

The authenticity of Italian design, high quality materials and innovative flair are part of our history and over the years have driven the evolution of the product that most represents us and most embodies the need for change in the world of fashion: jeans.

Replay jeans - like all our garments - are not created to last just one season, but are designed to blend with the body of the person who buys them and to be treasured over the years among the clothes we use most.

We began with jeans and a reflection on the value of what we produce and what we buy in order to take the first steps to make our production more sustainable, and today we are working on a long-term path towards becoming a leader in sustainable casualwear in Europe.

Reducing our impact with new processes and materials and redesigning our commitment by extending social and environmental responsibility to our suppliers, all while preserving the style and high quality of our products, these are the pillars on which we base our path for the future.

In 2012 - first in the world of denim - we introduced Laserblast technology to drastically reduce the amount of water and energy needed to achieve one of the most desired but critical finishes of denim garments, the aged effect. A conscious choice that was the first practical implementation of a sentiment that already existed in Replay.
From technologies that allow us to save up to 85% water in our garment treatment processes to the increased use of raw materials such as organic and recycled cotton and recycled polyester, to innovations in packaging, each step of our experimentation moves towards finding new processes and materials to reduce our impact.

We share our commitment not only inside our company and among the staff in our shops, but also with our suppliers, because there can be no real reduction in impact without rethinking relationships and processes throughout the production chain.
We believe in collaboration, and in 2020 we chose to become a member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition - the largest international non-profit alliance in the fashion industry for sustainable production - to evaluate the environmental and social responsibility of our operations through the HIGG BRM and to expand monitoring to a growing number of suppliers through the HIGG FEM and the HIGG FSLM.

Combining the characteristics of style, durability and comfort of our garments with a message of responsibility is our challenge in developing our collections and our trademark for the future.
Anyone choosing Hyperflex Re-Used jeans or a Bio Pack T-shirt is choosing a new way of thinking about and experiencing fashion together with Replay: from the careful selection of raw materials to the care of the garment, we want to be part of a process that gives value and quality to every single purchase.

Materials and processes to reduce our impact

Our path to becoming a sustainable brand follows a path of innovation through processes and materials that allow us to produce more responsibly.
Organic cotton, recycled polyester and recycled polyamide have become part of our 2021 collection, with even greater use in the 2022 collection. Furthermore, by 2021, 72% of mixed fibre materials* included the use of recycled components.

*The category includes all materials with mixed composition in which the majority component does not exceed 60 per cent of the total composition.

Higg FEM and Higg FSLM to monitor the Replay supply chain

SAC membership allows us to broaden our commitment to responsibility in the production chain as well. In particular, Replay is committed to promoting a growing number of suppliers:

the Higg FEM (Higg Facility Environmental Module) to monitor parameters such as the environmental management system, energy and water use, emissions, wastewater treatment, waste management, chemical use and management
the Higg FSLM (Higg Facility Social & Labour Module) to monitor compliance with social regulations and promote fair and safe working conditions

In total, 56% of our direct suppliers complete and share the Higg FEM annually, while 46% complete and share the Higg FSLM annually. Among these, 19% complete and share both forms.

Find out the steps of our responsible transition

Our long-term goal is to manufacture all Replay garments with less impactful materials, such as organic or recycled cotton and recycled polyester, while at the same time working in an increasingly socially and environmentally responsible manner throughout our production chain.

The authenticity of our commitment is sustained by the actions already accomplished throughout our history and those we are pursuing in the present.

Consider your next sustainable purchase

Organic or recycled cotton and recycled polyester are the main fibres from which we make environmentally friendly jeans, T-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, shoes, bags and accessories.
Think about your next purchase and look for products tagged "sustainable" on our e-commerce site.

Cherish what you love, take care of your jeans

Jeans are that item of clothing that everyone has in their wardrobe, and that can be used for any occasion simply by experimenting with pairings and accessories. That's why we want them to last for years among the clothes you love most.

How to wash Replay jeans

Replay jeans should be washed as little as possible in order to preserve both colour and shape over time. In doing so, you will also reduce your water and energy consumption and therefore your impact on the environment.

Here are a few simple tips for successful washing:

  • turn the jeans inside out and close all buttons and zipsto reduce the risk of tearing or fading in the washing machine, and to avoid whitish streaks during the spin cycle that are difficult to remove
  • the first time you wash your jeans,do not put them in the washing machine together with whites or delicates
  • to avoid colour fading that will damage the rest of your laundry; as a general rule, always wash your jeans together with similarly coloured garments
  • do not overload the washing machineas this could make the spinning process less effective
  • if available on your washing machine, use thewashing programme dedicated to denimotherwise, wash jeans in cold wateror at a maximum temperature of 30° (depending on the label) as high temperatures can compromise the performance of denim
  • use a mild detergent in liquid formand never use bleach or fabric softener; capsule or powder detergent is not recommended as it can leave white marks on denim

How to dry Replay jeans

Let your Replay jeans dry by just laying them on a flat surface. Using a tumble dryer is strongly discouraged, but - if unavoidable - choose the lowest setting and finish drying on a drying rack.

How to iron Replay jeans

Denim should never be ironed, but – if required – it is advisable to use an iron with a high temperature and ample use of steam.

What to do between washes

The most important element is allowing your Replay jeans to breathe between washes to rid them of odours and bacteria. For this reason, too, we recommend hanging them in the wardrobe using the belt loops instead of storing them rolled up in a drawer.
If there are any small stains, you can use a damp cloth or an old toothbrush together with mild soap instead of resorting to machine washing.
