Replay consolidates its green approach, introducing processes based on materials circularity across all collection lines, including Footwear and Accessories for the first time.
Green Project is part of a wider corporate process started a few years ago in the Apparel collections, with major spinoffs along the entire value chain, reflecting Replay’s strong focus on the ecological and social impact of production. Endeavours range from controlling manufacturing processes with a view to reducing the environmental footprint, to caring for the health of workers and consumers, to designing products that use organic cotton and recycled raw materials and gaining important international certifications thanks to environmentally friendly products and processes.
The real innovation refers to Replay Footwear, which becomes circular and sustainable, using items designed entirely with recycled and GRS (Global Recycle Standard) certified materials. The shoe uppers and linings are made from a mix of recycled materials, i.e. PET bottles and waste fibres re-introduced into a virtuous production cycle. A high-cushioning power biopolymer has been identified as the perfect fit for making the soles. The soles consist of 66% from sugarcane and is combined with a durable tread consisting of a mix of natural and recycled rubber. The insoles are made of foam material whereof 86% comes from waste processing and the laces are made of 100% recycled polyester.
All the packaging is sustainable: from the boxes made using recycled paper to the shoe bags — featuring an all-over logo — made of nylon produced from recycled PET bottles. The Footwear models reflect the essence of the brand, in simple and different shapes and colours, without giving up the premium look.
The green capsule for the Accessories relies on the use of recycled polyester and GRS certified materials for a simple, clean, cross-cutting collection befitting men as well as women and easy to match with the entire Apparel collection.
